{"id":1557,"date":"2009-07-07T09:58:20","date_gmt":"2009-07-07T01:58:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nick.onetwenty.org\/?p=1557"},"modified":"2009-07-07T09:58:20","modified_gmt":"2009-07-07T01:58:20","slug":"vista-in-virtualbox-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nick.onetwenty.org\/index.php\/2009\/07\/07\/vista-in-virtualbox-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Vista in VirtualBox 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I changed my dual-boot (Ubuntu 8.10, Windows Vista Ultimate) <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dell_XPS#XPS_M1330\">Dell XPS M1330<\/a> laptop to a single boot machine running <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ubuntu.com\/products\/whatisubuntu\/904features\/\">Ubuntu 9.04<\/a> with Windows Vista in a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.virtualbox.org\">VirtualBox<\/a> 3.0.0 <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Virtual_machine\">VM<\/a> (using 1GB RAM and 40GB of HDD space).<\/p>\n<p>After installing Guest Additions I have Vista running well at fullscreen. (I tried Integrated mode, but it feels a little messy to me.) As expected, the early Direct3D support is rather slow, but I&#8217;m not too concerned.
