{"id":422,"date":"2006-05-03T08:30:17","date_gmt":"2006-05-03T00:30:17","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-06-25T11:55:03","modified_gmt":"2010-06-25T03:55:03","slug":"ati_buys_bit_boys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nick.onetwenty.org\/index.php\/2006\/05\/03\/ati_buys_bit_boys\/","title":{"rendered":"ATI buys Bit Boys"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Voodoo Extreme is <a href=\"http:\/\/ve3d.ign.com\/articles\/704\/704374p1.html\">reporting<\/a> that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ati.com\/\">ATI<\/a> has <a href=\"http:\/\/ir.ati.com\/phoenix.zhtml?c=105421&amp;p=irol-newsArticle&amp;ID=850313&amp;highlight=\">announced<\/a> that it is buying <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bitboys.com\/index_bb.php\">BitBoys<\/a> for $44 million (US  dollars I presume).<\/p>\n<p>This announcement is made more interesting because <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hybrid.fi\/\">Hybrid Graphics<\/a>, which BitBoys have a very close relationship with, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hybrid.fi\/main\/about\/releases\/Hybrid-pr-2006-03-22_NVIDIA\/Hybrid-pr-2006-03-22_NVIDIA.htm\">announced<\/a> that it was being acquired by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nvidia.com\">Nvidia<\/a> earlier this year. Bit Boys even <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bitboys.com\/news_archive.php?action=read&amp;id=20072004\">uses<\/a> Hybrid Graphics software drivers (or at least they did at some point) and members of both have worked on technology together (notably the <a href=\"http:\/\/portal.acm.org\/citation.cfm?id=882347&amp;dl=GUIDE&amp;coll=GUIDE\">delay stream<\/a> paper from SIGGRAPH a few years ago).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Voodoo Extreme is reporting that ATI has announced that it is buying BitBoys for $44 million (US dollars I presume).
