{"id":566,"date":"2006-05-08T07:35:55","date_gmt":"2006-05-07T23:35:55","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2010-06-25T11:55:03","modified_gmt":"2010-06-25T03:55:03","slug":"e3_predictions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nick.onetwenty.org\/index.php\/2006\/05\/08\/e3_predictions\/","title":{"rendered":"E3 predictions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just a few random predictions for E3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Plausible<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nintendo announces that a standard set of network-capable mini-games (like table tennis) will come bundled with the Wii to introduce people to the controller and Nintendo Wifi Connection.<\/li>\n<li>Sega announces that a selection of popular Dreamcast games will be available on Xbox360 Live Arcade.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Unlikely<\/strong> (<em>Or are they?<\/em> Yes, yes they are):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Microsoft will release a smaller version of the Xbox360 for the Japan market re-launch. The  &#8220;Xbox360 S&#8221; will use the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.teamxbox.com\/xbox\/10754\/Chartered-to-Manufacture-65nm-Xbox-360-CPUs\/\">new smaller (and cooler) CPU<\/a> and also have integrated HD-DVD. Microsoft assures the Western world that these are only for Japan (but actually plans for the Xbox360 S to eventually become the standard model world-wide).<\/li>\n<li>An intrepet journalist will reveal that <a href=\"http:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=j-AXYa2Sj0I&amp;search=mario\">all<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=WerllgjuvX4&amp;search=mario\">those<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=R0fCnf8uWxw&amp;search=mario\">Nintendo<\/a>&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=iSjOWv8Mm-w&amp;search=mario\">themed<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=F8LGqHHsios&amp;search=mario\">amateur<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=VF7r1Gj7zWQ&amp;search=mario\">videos<\/a> on the net were part of a viral marketing campaign to foster interest in the classic games on Wii&#8217;s virtual console.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Ridiculously<\/em> Unlikely<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The final version of the PS3 controller is revealed! It consists of a remote control type device with motion and position sensors, and a joystick that can be attached via a cable in a sort of nunchuku-style.. scratch that, I&#8217;m sure it will be more innovative&#8230; the two components will be connected wirelessly!<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.onetwenty.org\/blogs\/index.php?blog=5&amp;title=xbox_move&amp;more=1&amp;c=1&amp;tb=1&amp;pb=1\">XboxMove handheld<\/a> is announced and I recieve a whopping great design royalty cheque in the mail&#8230; wait a second, this <em>is<\/em> Microsoft&#8230; I recieve  a court order to cease and desist any mention of the XboxMove!<\/li>\n<li>Nintendo announces that the Wii moniker is just a joke. \ud83d\ude1b<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thoughts?
