A couple of days ago Heidi and I got on a ferry:
and headed to Rottnest Island:
It was my first time there (apparantly unheard of for someone who has lived in Perth for more than a few years) and very enjoyable.
We spent our time bike-riding (10km on the first day, 20km on the second), swimming, eating (overpriced food), and playing mini-golf (it was a pretty good course).
Conclusion: Yeah, I’d go again š
Did you eat a famous rottnest island pie? did you see many quokkas? Do they still have a slushie machine at the bakery? what was overpriced?
Those pies are famous? I had one, but didn’t think much of it. š
There were quokkas *everywhere*. They even wandered into our hotel room when they heard us opening packets of biscuits. Cheeky bastards. š
I didn’t notice a slushie machine.
The most overpriced items were the sports drinks and food from The Rottnest Tea Rooms. I got a 500ml powerade style drink for $5.60 or something, and our meal at the Tea Rooms was around $25 for nachos and a burger that took over 40 minutes to make and looked and tasted like something you’d buy frozen and heat up in the microwave.
